I was quite shocked about what has happened in Caucasus’ city Nalchik these past days.
As usual, I’ve been part of that running people searching around for good information (italian television is not something you can really rely on for good information) on the internet, and today I found a good report about how to find around good coverage about this event.
Well, today I found that someone had helped me (while helping himself) to sum things up.
It looks like the dust is beginning to settle after yesterday’s attack on the Southern Russian city of Nalchik, and the city is securely in the hands of the Russian military. In this post I’m just going to restrict myself to a roundup of news and views that have been published over the last few days, interspersed with a few thoughts of my own.
It’s good to see this wasn’t event close to what happened to Beslan one year ago, but this doesn’t help with counting the too many deads of this further act of madness.

Com’è vero (purtroppo) che la tv italiana ci da informazioni incomplete, “taroccate”, reinterpretate..! Quando andavo alle scuole medie, mi spiegavano che lo “stile giornalistico” è per definizione oggettivo e che, per scrivere un articolo, bisogna rispondere alle domande cosa?-quando?-dove?-come?, senza aggiungere opinioni e commenti…come siamo lontani da questo modello!
(Ma che tristezza che io non sappia scrivere in inglese..! E ho pure fatto il liceo linguistico! Ciao!)
Le famose 5 “W“: Who? Where? When? Why? How? (mai capito perché “how” fosse compreso nelle 5 W :p ’sti inglesi…).
Credo che ormai in merito al giornalismo italiano, sperare nell’obiettività sia più che utopistico, il che mette una tristezza senza pari. Per questo tendo ad affidarmi molto alla rete in quanto a notizie: magari l’obiettività nemmeno qui è garantita, ma almeno c’è la pluralità che di solito sopperisce.
(Ma allora sei solo reticente… :p Il liceo linguistico ti qualifica come conoscitrice dell’inglese “a priori” ^_^ Non hai scampo…)
Riguardo alle informazioni che ci passa la tv, non c’è speranza. Io ne sono talmente schifata che ho smesso di guardare i telegiornali (e anche la tv in generale - a parte Everwood, lo ammetto!).
Riguardo al mio inglese di speranza ce n’è ancora meno…se dico che ho sempre avuto 5 la mia posizione migliora o peggiora? Sono pessima, lo so! ;)

Per il resto, della TV salvo solo poche serie… di certo non la uso per l’informazione.
Tzè, i voti scolastici non c’entrano nulla. Potresti cominciare a recuperarti puntate di Everwood in lingua originale. Niente di meglio di film e telefilm per imparare bene l’inglese. Parla uno che non compra un DVD con audio italiano da almeno 4 anni.
Su su… che si parli inglese, orsù! ^_^
